The Sales Engineer role is a technical position within the sales team, tasked with assisting account executives by developing solutions and providing support to potential clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Update and manage the sales engineering-specific job flows in the CRM or any future workflow applications.
Communicate with prospective and existing SMB customers directly and through Account Executives to understand current network environment, business, and technical requirements.
Design solutions for customer applications, including preparation of network topologies and technical specifications.
Provide input on post-sale documentation and support to installation and project management personnel, as needed, to clarify service expectations; including providing diagrams, written documentation and verbal explanation as required.
Manage and update existing project tables coordinated with the sales engineering team.
Acts as a liaison between customers, sales teams and the ALLO Communications team.
Maintain knowledge of industry and emerging technology within the telecommunications industry.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Effectively represent ALLO Communications to customers and at field events like conferences and seminars.
Colorado Residents: Typical pay range for this role will be from $60,000 to $80,000 based on experience.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing or equivalent work/military experience
Additional professional qualifications will be an advantage
Telecommunications or related field
EXPERIENCE:
Relevant work experience with telecommunication services and data networks
Relevant work experience involving sales or customer service
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Knowledgeable in telecom technologies and topologies
Able to create customer-ready network drawings
Able to create DLRs relevant to changes inside of a network
Knowledgeable in complex phone routing and understanding of how it works
Able to work well with other technically adept individuals
Able to work well with other departments inside a sales-driven organization
Able to work with a sales manager to set sales goals
Proficiency in eliminating sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
Able to learn and adapt to new technologies
Strong technical skills involving computers and networking equipment
Strong analytical abilities as well as persuasion/negotiation skills
Ability to convey complex information in a simplified manner
Ability to work comfortably with a sales team in daily tasks and pending sales
Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with an expanding customer base
Adept in creating and presenting sales-based presentations
Self-motivated with experience in sales and knowledge of technology
Able to travel to and from assigned territories and company facilities using a reliable personal vehicle, company fleet car, or airline when necessary
Able to complete documentation accurately
Strong organizational skills
